Beginnings |
| In 1955, Marvin Weiss started as a discount toy store called "Toy Riot," and
he sold 88 cent toys out of a house in Pennsauken.
In addition to toys, Marvin sold folding aluminum furniture and eventually
he began selling rattan and redwood furniture.
The store became a South Jersey fixture. |
| Viking Grows |
| In 1965, Marvin and his wife Rose moved into the furniture business.
They sold off all the toys and became Viking Casual Furniture.
Viking soon established a reputation as a family-run business with unparalelled customer service.
In 1977, they moved to a storefront in Maple Shade to acommodate their growing inventory,
and in 1986 they moved to their current location on Route 70 in Cherry Hill. |
